The Center for the Cognitive Science of Language was established in December 2019 with the goal of advancing the discipline of cognitive science of language. It focuses on three key research directions: language acquisition and cognition, cognitive neuroscience of language, and language cognition and brain-inspired research, aiming to build an international and open scientific research platform.
The base is characterized by building a world-class team of international scholars, introducing top scholars from the world's top 100 universities and research institutions to form an international team. The domestic team consists of renowned scholars, doctors, and postdoctoral researchers in fields such as linguistics, psychology, neuroscience, and computer science, bringing together multidisciplinary strengths to promote interdisciplinary integration and development.
The Intellectual Base undertakes the task of high-level international exchanges and cooperation entrusted by the state, consistently placing great emphasis on international collaboration. It actively fosters the integration of international and domestic teams, builds international exchange platforms, carries out joint projects, and promotes disciplinary development. International cooperation provides the base with broad academic perspectives and high-quality resources, helping the research team advance toward the global academic forefront.
The base is equipped with comprehensive software and hardware facilities for experimental research. The "Language and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory" includes an eye-tracking lab, a speech lab, an EEG lab, a near-infrared spectroscopy lab, and an audiometric testing room, among others. The development of these experimental platforms has laid a solid foundation for building an international and open laboratory, serving the nation's technological advancement and international exchanges.
