On International Museum Day 2026, teachers and students from Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) met with a delegation from Princeton University at the He-yuan Museum in Beijing for a youth exchange event themed “China-US Relations and the Silk Road Public Welfare for Peace.” Through museum study tours, academic seminars, art performances, and youth dialogues, the event built an immersive cross-cultural exchange platform, injecting youthful vitality into China-US people-to-people friendship and mutual learning among civilizations.

Chinese and American students viewed national gifts, diplomatic relics and historical images in the museum, and interacted with each other in front of exhibits on “Ping-Pong Diplomacy” and the Belt and Road Initiative people-to-people cooperation. BLCU students shared cultural stories, and American students actively asked questions. The immersive study tour brought young people from both countries closer and offered a vivid cross-cultural practical lesson.

At the welcome ceremony, guests from both sides delivered speeches, fully affirming the important role of youth cross-border exchanges in enhancing mutual trust and consolidating friendship, and expecting more regular and in-depth cooperation between Chinese and American universities. During the seminar, young participants from both universities had in-depth discussions on global governance, international organization cooperation, youth participation in global development and other topics, laying a solid foundation for follow-up practical cooperation.

A special indoor concert was then staged, featuring performances of Chinese and Western classics on the guzheng, piano, and violin. Combining oriental charm and Western style, the concert conveyed peace and friendship through artistic language, vividly interpreting the idea of “Prosper individually and collectively”.

After the performance, teachers and students sat together and talked freely about language learning, campus life, artificial intelligence, ecological protection and more. Face-to-face communication took cross-cultural knowledge out of textbooks. Young people from both countries deepened mutual understanding and friendship, exchanged contact information and agreed to keep in touch online.

This event is a vivid example of BLCU’s commitment to promoting international education and deepening people-to-people and cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign youth. In the future, the university will continue to strengthen cooperation with universities and public welfare institutions at home and abroad, promote mutual learning among civilizations with youth power, and write a new chapter in China-US people-to-people friendly exchanges.
