On the afternoon of May 27, President Duan Peng met with Sabine Rein, President of Konstanz University of Applied Sciences in Germany. The two sides held in-depth discussions on promoting student exchanges, faculty mutual appointments, and expanding cooperation with Hainan International College.

President Duan Peng warmly welcomed President Sabine Rein on behalf of the university and introduced the institution's history and distinctive features. He noted that since establishing their inter-university partnership in 2001, the two institutions have maintained a stable and friendly relationship for 25 years, building a solid foundation and achieving fruitful outcomes. He emphasized that moving forward, both universities should further leverage their respective disciplinary strengths, expand channels for student summer exchanges and faculty reciprocal visits, promote the sharing of academic resources and collaborative research, and create higher-quality international platforms for learning and practical experience for students on both sides. He also focused on introducing the construction situation of the Beijing Language University Hainan International College. He sincerely welcomed the teachers and students of Konstanz University of Applied Sciences to visit and study here, and proposed to jointly establish a German Technology Research Center. This would further expand the scope of cooperation between the two universities in the Hainan campus and further deepen and solidify bilateral cooperation.

Professor Sabine Rein expressed her sincere gratitude to President Duan Peng for the warm reception. She highly praised the long-term practical cooperation and deep friendship between the two universities. She introduced the educational characteristics and disciplinary advantages of Konstanz University of Applied Sciences and stated that she is willing to further deepen the practical cooperation with Beijing Language and Culture University, expanding from two-way student exchanges to reciprocal faculty appointments, and jointly building a more solid bridge for educational and cultural exchanges between Chinese and German universities.
During the meeting, the two sides also had in-depth discussions on the aforementioned topics and specific matters such as the visit to the Hainan campus. Relevant officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the Foreign Languages and Cultures College attended the meeting.
