President Duan Peng Meets with Turkish Ambassador to China H.E. Mr. Serçuk Ünal and Delegation

On the morning of May 23, President Duan Peng of Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) met with H.E. Mr. Serçuk Ünal, Turkish Ambassador to China, and his delegation at the university.

President Duan Peng extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Ünal on his return visit to BLCU. He noted that BLCU has always been committed to promoting language connectivity and people-to-people exchanges between China and Turkey. The university offers a Turkish language program and hosts a Center for Turkish Studies, maintaining strong cooperative relationships with multiple Turkish universities, thereby building a solid platform for bilateral cultural and linguistic exchange. Looking ahead, President Duan expressed BLCU’s willingness to further diversify its cooperation with Turkey, elevate bilateral educational and cultural collaboration to a new level, and enhance the friendship between the Chinese and Turkish peoples.

Ambassador Serçuk Ünal thanked President Duan Peng for his gracious reception and spoke highly of BLCU’s vital role in educational and cultural exchanges between the two countries. He expressed his continued support for Turkish students studying in China and for academic exchanges, adding that he would actively facilitate the establishment of joint research institutions, thereby contributing to the steady consolidation of inter-civilizational dialogue and friendly relations between the two nations.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views and reached a positive consensus on expanding student exchanges, deepening academic cooperation, and implementing cultural projects. The meeting was attended by representatives from BLCU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the College of Applied Chinese Studies, the Center for Turkish Studies, and other relevant departments.
