Recently, the opening ceremony for the Class of 2026 at BLCU Hainan International College was held at the Lingshui Li‑an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone, welcoming 746 new students from home and abroad as they embarked on their university journeys.

In his address, Qu Zhaowei set three expectations for incoming students: to make good use of technology without blindly following it, to keep the broader currents of the times in mind, and to grow into young advocates for exchange and mutual learning among civilizations. He encouraged them to develop into talents equipped with language competencies, digital‑intelligence literacy and cross‑cultural perspectives.

Vice President Huang Yifang presented university badges to student representatives and presented the college flag. The opening ceremony concluded with the singing of the university anthem.

Alongside the ceremony, Qu Zhaowei led an on‑site inspection. The team toured the construction site of the BLCU-dedicated buildings and the campus library, met with officials from the Pilot Zone Administration Bureau, and held roundtable discussions with faculty as well as Chinese and international student representatives. They listened to feedback on teaching, curricula, academic work and campus life, responding to concerns on the spot. The delegation also visited student dormitories to inspect residential conditions and safety arrangements firsthand.
