On the afternoon of March 24, Vice President Zhang Baojun met with a delegation from the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.

Vice President Zhang Baojun noted that the two universities share highly compatible educational philosophies and development strategies, pointing to broad prospects for collaboration. Since its founding, Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) has been committed to promoting Chinese language and culture worldwide, with a distinctive focus on international Chinese education and a dedication to fostering cross-cultural dialogue. He also highlighted BLCU’s new “Beijing–Hainan” dual-campus development model, expressing the hope that this meeting would serve as a new starting point for deeper, more practical cooperation in talent cultivation and academic research.

Vice President Elena presented the institute’s 60-year history and its integrated talent development system covering bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs. She emphasized that the institute has always been dedicated to promoting the Russian language and culture and training high-quality professionals in Russian as a foreign language. She looked forward to practical collaboration with BLCU under the framework of the China-Russia Year of Education, advancing people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries through joint efforts.

The two sides exchanged views and reached a consensus on future cooperation. In terms of talent development, efforts will begin with inter-university exchanges and short-term study tours, gradually advancing toward joint academic programs to promote cross-cultural interaction among Chinese and Russian students. Regarding academic and faculty development, the two universities will strengthen cooperation in areas such as co-publishing and co-hosting high-level international conferences. They will also establish a mechanism for faculty exchanges and guest lectures, facilitating the two-way flow of teaching resources and academic ideas through short-term visiting research and specialized seminars.
