The National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies (CNTERM) "Research Base for Documentation Terminology", established on January 1, 2022, is a research platform co-founded by the National Committee for Terms in Sciences and Technologies (CNTERM) and Beijing Language and Culture University. The base has long been engaged in the examination, research, coordination, promotion, and application of documentation terminology. It facilitates the exchange, coordination, and unification of documentation terminology across the Strait and in Chinese-speaking regions, while also organizing the development of terminology studies nationwide and promoting academic exchanges in terminology both domestically and internationally.
The Research Base for the Study of Literature Terminology is established under the School of Literature at Beijing Language and Culture University. It currently has 13 full-time experts, forming a 3+4+6梯队梯队 structure across senior, middle-aged, and young scholars. This includes three senior scholars: Hua Xuecheng, Dong Zhiqiao, and Feng Shengli, all renowned figures in academia; four middle-aged experts: Professors Wei Desheng, Luo Weidong, Wei Zhaohui, and Xu Chaodong; and six young talents: Doctors Yang Mengsheng, Liang Huijing, You Shuai, Yan Cuike, Chen Qiyuan, and Zhang Peng. Among them, five have been selected for national-level talent programs.
Over the years, the base has undertaken 18 provincial and ministerial-level projects from the state, the Ministry of Education, and Beijing, including 7 National Social Science Fund projects (4 of which are major projects), 4 Ministry of Education Fund projects (1 of which is a major project), 6 Beijing Social Science Fund projects (1 of which is a major project), and 1 "Unique Disciplines" Support Program project from the Chinese Academy of History. Base members have published nearly 70 important articles in CSSCI-indexed journals and the "Three Newspapers and One Journal," as well as 6 important works (or sets of works) with authoritative publishers.
Graduates from the program have pursued diverse career paths, securing positions not only at prestigious universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, and Shandong University, but also at leading news, publishing, and cultural institutions including Zhonghua Book Company, The Commercial Press, Guangming Daily, the National Archives of Publications and Culture, and the Palace Museum. Many master's and doctoral graduates nurtured by the program have become influential experts in academia.
