Established in June 2016, the China International Education and Culture Exchange Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine was jointly founded by the Center for International Exchange on Traditional Medicine under the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Beijing Language and Culture University. With a mission to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) globally and facilitate international exchanges in traditional medicine, the center serves as a solid bridge for the dissemination of TCM culture.
The center has established a leadership team that integrates the university's resources in education, international exchange, scientific innovation, and medical services, providing strong support for its various initiatives.
Its core functions include overall coordination and advancement of international TCM education and cultural dissemination. Through a scientific and efficient management mechanism, the center accurately identifies the direction and needs of TCM's global promotion, ensuring the orderly implementation of activities and projects while continuously enhancing their impact and influence.
Since its establishment, the center has been dedicated to enabling the international community to experience the charm of TCM culture through diverse activities. Each year, it organizes international students to participate in the Ditan TCM Cultural Festival, where they immerse themselves in the rich heritage and practical applications of TCM. It also invites students to attend recordings of the health program "Yang Sheng Tang," exposing them to TCM wellness knowledge through media platforms. Additionally, the center participates in major exhibitions such as the China International Fair for Trade in Services to showcase TCM's modern developments to the world.
The center regularly hosts "TCM Cultural Activity Days," tailoring experiential activities for international students and visitors to China. These activities include acupuncture and massage experiences, herbal medicine identification, and traditional health exercises. To date, the center has hosted delegations from 63 countries and served over 12,800 international visitors, becoming an important window for global friends to learn about TCM and traditional Chinese culture.
Looking ahead, the TCM Cultural Experience Center at Beijing Language and Culture University will continue to fulfill its mission by leveraging the profound wisdom of TCM to build a cultural bridge connecting China and the world. It aims to let TCM culture bloom with even greater brilliance in the global garden of world cultures.
