Established in 2017, the Norwegian Studies Center at Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is an official Area and Country Studies Center registered with the Ministry of Education. Leveraging the multicultural atmosphere of BLCU, often referred to as the "Mini-United Nations," the Center is dedicated to promoting mutual learning and exchange between the civilizations of China and Norway. It aims to foster mutual understanding and people-to-people connectivity between the two nations, working from both academic and non-governmental levels to solidify the foundation of public support for friendly bilateral relations.
With the development of China-Norway relations, the Norwegian Studies Center has actively initiated and promoted academic research and cultural exchange activities between the two countries. These include: conducting research related to Norwegian society and culture; undertaking joint programs for cultivating high-level talent; and promoting the dissemination of Norwegian literature and art within China, while actively participating in Norwegian cultural events held in the country.
